Port Blair

Situated in the Bay of Bengal, Port Blair is the capital city of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The city lies on the hilly southeastern sea coast of South Andaman Island and serves as the entry point for visiting the Andamans. Surrounded by the rugged yet beautiful coastlines, Port Blair is famous for the historic cellular jail, Chatham sawmill, zoo housing rare species of birds and other small islands like Corbyn’s Cove, Wandoor, Ross Island, Viper Island etc which were once home to British colonists. The Aberdeen Bazaar forms the central part of the town. This Island town also offers water-based activities like snorkeling, scuba diving and sea-cruises and is home to several museums. Port Blair is connected with mainland India by both air and sea.

The Homestay

This is a sea side family run homestay conveniently located in close proximity to the tourist attractions and the local market place. It is just 3.5 kms from the airport. It is an ideal place to stay for those seeking a comfortable vacation in the heart of Port Blair. You can see a beautiful sunrise from the balcony, if the weather is good. It is a 3 floor building and the host family stays on the second floor. The other 2 floors have a total of 6 rooms for the guests, all with an attached bathroom. 3 rooms have a sea facing balcony that provides a stunning sunrise view on a clear day. There is a well manicured garden, common sitting areas and a dining space to hang out with host and co travelers.

Know your Host

Ahmed Raza Khan along with his son Amir will host you. Ahmed Raza Khan is a retd. administrative officer, department of Environment and forest and stays here with his family. They are the locals of the Andaman islands. The family is really helpful and humble and will do their best to make your stay comfortable. They are quite approachable and will readily help you in suggesting plans as per your interests, arranging vehicles and tickets for cruise, scuba diving etc.


Fresh home cooked meals are provided as per your taste and preferences. They provide a fixed menu breakfast that has alu paratha, puri sabzi, idli sambar, vada etc. Simple home cooked meals are provided in lunch and dinner on order. All kinds of Indian food is available; both veg and non-veg options can be provided. Seasonal fish is also available on request.
