The Secluded Paradise Homestay-Mechuka 

Mechuka is a picturesque little town in Arunachal Pradesh near Indo-China border, situated in the bowl- shaped valley covered with vast meadows and evergreen pine forests. Xiang river, which originates from the glaciers around the Mansarovar Lake in Tibet, flows through Mechuka making it breathtakingly beautiful.  Your journey to this mesmerising place is incomplete if you haven’t experienced the stay at this homestay. What is truly unmatched is the warm, genuine hospitality that will spoil you during you stay here. Mopin festival is celebrated every year in March/ April  and is good time to visit Mechuka to be part of their culture and festivities.

This traditional style wooden house has 4 spacious rooms for the guests. 3 of them are double bedded rooms all with attached bathrooms and one dormitory. There is a huge common room area which has a Bukhari in the centre. You can sit there and get yourself warmed up and also have interesting conversations with the owners and other tourists staying there. Delicious homemade food, plenty of tea/coffee chats in cozy inviting living room, wonderful array of plants/flowers and most picturesque location in Mechuka is what will make your stay here extraordinary.

How to Reach

There is no direct train or flights to Mechuka, you need to reach Pasighat from where a one way road is there to Mechuka. You can reach Pasighat by flying to Dibrugarh, Guwahati or Pasighat. You can also reach Murkongselek Railway Station from where Pasighat is 36 kms.

They have a menu that offers a variety of dishes, ranging from traditional Adi, Memba cuisine to Indian and continental cuisine. The food here is simple, homely, and delicious. They make great veg/non-veg dishes with local ingredients like Lai Patta, Bamboo shoot, and cabbage that they grow in their own garden. Pork curry made with lai patta with rice is a must try.
