Situated between Chandigarh and Shimla on the Kalka-Shimla National Highway, Solan is a charming little hill town in Himachal known for its enchanting natural beauty and tranquil vibes. It is enveloped in dense pine forest and is surrounded by mountains. The town gets its name from the Hindu Goddess Shoolini Devi, most revered in this area. The major attractions of Solan are Dagshai Jail Museum, Shoolini Mata Temple, Gurkha Fort and Bon Monastery. Solan is also famous for the Mohan Meakins Brewery that was set up in the year 1855, after the establishment of the cantonment here.

Surrounded by scenic beauty and lush green atmosphere, it is one of the best places in town to have a peaceful stay. It is located away from the city crowd yet not too far, and is very well connected, so you get the best of both worlds.

The nearest major airport is in Chandigarh, 80km from Solan. Jubbarhatti airport in Shimla is 54 km but has limited flights. Solan is well connected by road from all major cities like Shimla and Chandigarh.
