Gokarna is a small temple town located on the coast of Karwar in Karnataka. It is a confluence between the Sayadhris and the Arabian sea with hillocks surrounding the beach and is just 140 km from Goa. Famous for its virgin beaches, dense forest cover, mesmerizing waterfalls, and temples, Gokarna is a stark contrast of cultures, amalgamation of religious places and the hippie vibes. This makes Gokarna a unique place. It has something to offer to everyone. Visit the Mahabaleshwar temple and take a dip in the holy waters of Koti Theertha for a spiritual pilgrim experience. The serene beaches of Gokarna are perfect sites for watersport activities like surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing, and jet skiing. Gokarna beach trek is another popular activity that people enjoy doing here.

It is a newly built house perched on the top of a hill with the backdrop of the Western Ghats. It provides a lush green view of hills on one side, sea view on the other side and an evergreen coconut palm groove in between. Conveniently located at Banglegudda, it is 5 km distance from Kudle Beach and Om Beach and the heart of the town is just 7 min walk from the homestay.

There are 2 tastefully furnished spacious rooms with the sea view. The antiques – the noodle maker, buttermilk churner (Phirni) and the likes adorn the rooms giving them a unique style. One room (AC) is on the ground floor with a private toilet, adjacent the room. The other room (Non-AC) is on the first floor and has an attached bathroom.

How To Reach

Gokarna has excellent road connectivity and is just 10 km from NH 17. The nearest airport is Goa Airport located at a distance of about 140 km from Gokarna. You may also take a train on the Konkan route from Mangalore to Goa/Mumbai. The railway station is called “Gokarna Road” station and is 6 kilometers from the main town.

Rajeev is a very good cook himself and offers authentic South Indian meals and the mouthwatering beverages to his guests. The quality of the food and hygiene is always a topmost priority for him. Savor the Local dishes like Kotte roti (Idli made in Jackfruit leaves) and Akki Roti (roti made of rice). Do try the refreshing Kokum Beverage. And if you want to learn the authentic way of cooking, he is always there to introduce you to it.

Rajeev’s dream to meet people from across the world and learn about their cultures turned into reality when he quit his job and started this homestay in 2014 with the support of his wife, Roopashree and his parents. His passion for hospitality is reflected in the tastefully decorated, neatly maintained rooms. He personally receives the guests and entertains them. The warm welcome by the family members and the neat service etiquettes leave the guests pleasantly surprised. He has a thorough knowledge on the historical background of the nearby places and he gladly guides and at times accompanies the guests to these places.
