Coastal Calm Homestay – Udupi

Surrounded by the Arabian sea on one side and the western ghats on the other, sleepy coastal town of Udupi in Karnataka is known for its ancient temples, unexplored forests and laid-back beaches. The famous south Indian Dosa is said to have its origin in Udupi. If you are the adventurous sort, you can head south to Mulki; if you like mountains, turn east to Karkala, where Agumbe and other places provide some excellent trekking opportunities; and for a cultural experience, try to catch a performance of Yakshagana, a genre of dance-drama that is native to the Karavali region. Attur Festival, Paryaya Festival, and Krishna Janmashtami are some of the most popular festivals when you can visit the place to experience the local traditions.
