You will be hosted by Surinder Kaur Pathaw. She stays here with her husband Lionel Nongkhlaw and three daughters. Surinder is an active courteous lady who runs a boutique, manages the homestay and is a Hindi Teacher by profession. She is also very fond of cooking. The family takes care of all guests amazingly, and is there to help you with everything you may need during your stay. The family takes pride in their local culture and will be happy to introduce you to it.
The family takes care of the cooking themselves. They use fresh vegetables and local meat to cook in a very clean and hygienic kitchen. There is a wide variety of food options including North Indian, Chinese and Khasi cuisine. Both Veg and Non-Veg food is served. Breakfast options can be toast with your choice of eggs, butter and jam, puri sabji, parathas with curd and pickle. You must try the local Chicken, fermented Fish, and fermented Soybeans.
