Panaji, also known as Panjim, is the capital of Goa. Located on the banks of the Mandovi River, the city has a distinctive colonial feel to it. One of the best places to explore for soaking up this bygone era is the old Portuguese quarter, Fontainhas. There are Miramar and some other beaches here, but the city is more about heritage buildings, churches & temples, walking tours and river cruising. There are many English cafes and French restaurants tucked away in small corners.
Situated by the River Mandovi’s backwater, this is an ideal place to stay in North Goa if you are looking for a calm and peaceful place. Set in a beautifully landscaped area, you will get a feeling like you are in a forest surrounded by trees even though it is in a bustling area. The temperature is always lower than any other place in Goa due to the shaded canopy of trees around this place. A riverside open space makes it very interesting for late night chats, early morning Sunbath and bird-watching. You can also experience fishing. If you are lucky you can spot otters as well in the river.
There are 6 exquisitely decorated rooms that have a great view of the river and the mangroves. All rooms have attached bathrooms, AC, television, fridge, Tea/Coffee maker and Wifi. There is an infinity pool as well that is perfect to spend cool afternoons. You can pick your favorite book from their library or play indoor games in the well maintained lawn.
