Kabi is a fairyland village in Mangan subdivision, located at a distance of 17 km from Gangtok. capital city of Sikkim. This quaint little town is a historically significant destination where a treaty was signed between the chief of Lepcha and Bhutia tribe to be in blood brotherhood and live in harmony for generations to come. Two Tribe Homestay is located on a hillside and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
This three-storeyed building surrounded by greenery has one dedicated floor for the accommodation of the guests. One floor is occupied by the family where they live and the other floor serves as a dining hall and kitchen. There are three spacious rooms with one double-bedding and one single bedding in each room and can accommodate a total of 9 guests. Extra mattresses can also be provided as per your requirement. All the rooms have attached washrooms and there is a common balcony with a great picturesque view. The owners themselves are from different communities i.e, Bhutia and Lepcha, that makes the homestay at your top list to revive all the historic moments through their tales along with great hospitality services. You will feel at home during your stay, while being indulged in scenic beauty and natural surroundings as well as opportunities for trekking, hiking and other outdoor activities.

How to Reach
Located on National Sikkim Highway, 17 km from Gangtok, Kabi is accessible by road only. Bagdogra International Airport (144 km) is the nearest airport from the homestay and New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (139 km) is the nearest railhead. To reach Gangtok, you will get cabs and buses that run daily from Bagdogra, Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri. Guests can opt for taxi or jeep services that move between Gangtok and Kabi.

The homestay has options for both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian food. Fresh organic vegetables are plucked from the farm for preparing the food served to the guests. Chinku Lepcha serves delicious local dishes giving guests an authentic taste of the region. Organic Veggies and rice, buckwheat bread, local chicken and pork curry and local drink chaang are few options worth a try during your stay. You can also cook your own food in a separate kitchen as per your taste which adds as a perk to the property.

Know Your Host
You will be hosted by a beautiful couple Tashi Dorjee Bhutia and Chinku Lepcha. Tashi is a teacher in a government school and acquires a great passion for Wildlife photography and also worked with WWF. From 2010 to 2012, he hosted the WWF team at his homestay and after that has been serving people from all parts of the world. His wife is available at the property, who is a trained professional in hospitality services and makes sure the guests feel at home. The complete family is devoted to fulfilling the needs of their guests and making sure of providing them a comfortable stay.
