Chandigarh is located at the foothills of the Shivalik mountain range of the Himalayas in Punjab. It is the first planned city in India and is designed by the Swiss-French modernist architect Le Corbusier. It is famous for its clean roads and greenery. Apart from the city’s architecture and buildings, Chandigarh serves delicious foods and is enveloped by several villages and firm stays in Punjab.
This two-storied house provides a hustle free cozy stay amidst the city. This sixty-two-year-old house is furnished in retro style with all modern amenities. Located in sector 16D which is the center of the city, it is well connected with the airport (25km), the railway station (11km) and the bus terminus (Sec-17 bus terminus is 500mtr and the new ISBT is about 4 km).
The homestay has a sprawling green, well-maintained garden in the rear and front, a portico, an in-house café, and free parking space on the premises. There are three bedrooms, one with an attached bathroom and the other two with a shared bathroom, and each is of double occupancy. Besides, there is a kitchen, dining area, common area, and balcony, and the guests are free to roam at any portion of the house. You can enjoy the barbecue and the jazz concert which are hosted quite often in the place. This is a pet-friendly home, and smoking and drinking inside your room are allowed.
You’ll get a warm welcome from Anurag Khanna, who was a banker. He quit his job in 2014 to pursue his passion for hosting guests and is doing it full-time since then. Anurag has a philosophical mind with a great passion for rock, blues, and jazz music. He is one of the vinyl collectors of the city who has a vast collection of old records from the streets of Kolkata. Anurag is also a ’69 Enfield rider and can guide you for the biking trails and knows his city well. Being a big foodie, he knows about all the big and small food joints in Chandigarh and guides you through it, and he’s a great cook as well.
This is his ancestral home and he stays here with his two adorable four-legged sons- Scooby and Cooper. You’ll get enough privacy in the homestay while Anurag is just a knock away if you want to have a pleasant time with an exciting conversation.
Delicious food, especially the intriguing breakfast options, is one of the biggest reasons that the guests cherish here. Anurag, along with his house-help serve both veg and non-veg homemade meals three times. Besides, you’ll have access to the kitchen and its utensils to cook your food if staying for a longer duration. From Indian to western, all kinds of requests are welcome.
