Lachen Homestay – North Sikkim

We chose to stay here instead of staying in a hotel (which was cheaper) because we wanted to have an experience of the local Lachenpa culture, get to know about their culture, talk to Yougay etc. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a hotel. The room was ok, was clean. But we could only exchange hi, hello with Yougay just before leaving Lachen. The room was extremely cold (outside was warmer!). Food was good and room service was also good. The staff was helpful. No great view as many constructions are going on around. Won’t recommend for those who are looking for a homestay. This was a family-run hotel and not a homestay.
