Kangan – Ganderbal

Situated across River Sindh, Kangan is a beautiful town in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, spread over a 50-km-long gorge valley. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, it is one of the most beautiful places in Kashmir located between the two major hill stations Srinagar and Sonmarg. Srinagar is 35 km and Sonmarg is 44 km. Ganderbal district holds some of the sacred pilgrimage sites like the Holy Amarnath cave, the serene spring of Kheer Bhawani and is renowned for an easy approach to the Amarnath cave. Ganderbal is also the best place for enjoying river rafting between August and September. The mountain streams of river Indus is a hot spot for white water river rafting, paragliding, as well as angling and fishing. 

This Kashmiri Heritage Cottage is located in a small village in Prang valley just off the road which connects Srinagar with Sonamarg and onwards to Ladakh. It is nestled in enchanting forests of pine and walnut on the picturesque slopes of the Himalayas and Sindh river. It is a spacious home with six cozy bedrooms spread across three floors. 2 on the ground floor, 3 rooms on the first floor and 1 on the top floor. All rooms have an attached bathroom. Around the cottage is a large fenced garden, a small pond with ducks in it and a stream flows through it. The garden area offers numerous possibilities for outdoor activities. Sindh River flows just a few meters away from the homestay.

How To Reach

Srinagar Airport  is the nearest airport, 44 km from Kangan. Hiring a local cab from the airport is the most comfortable option to reach Kangan. A good network of roads connect Kangan with the Sonmarg.
