Lachung is a picturesque mountain village in North Sikkim, surrounded by snow covered mountain peaks, gorgeous waterfalls, sparkling streams and fruit orchards. The people of Lachung predominantly follow Buddhism. The ancestry of Lachung’s people can be traced back to the Bhutia, the Lepcha and Tibetans. Despite increasing modernization, Lachung still retains its distinctive culture. Festivals, dances and worship are all important aspects of their day to day lives.
