Lachung is a picturesque mountain village situated at an altitude of 8610 ft in North Sikkim. Close to the Tibetan border, it is divided by the Lachung Chu, a source to river Teesta. Embraced by snow covered mountain peaks, gorgeous waterfalls, sparkling streams and fruit orchards; it is a perfect destination for summer vacation.
The people of Lachung predominantly follow Buddhism. The ancestry of Lachung’s people can be traced back to the Bhutia, the Lepcha and Tibetans. Despite increasing modernization, Lachung still retains its distinctive culture. Festivals, dances, and worship are all important aspects of their lives.
Nestled in the lap of nature and surrounded by snow capped mountains, the stay offers lovely views. There are 2 guest rooms with attached bathrooms and balcony overlooking the mountains. There are organic farms that focus on organic farming. Potatoes, Wheat, Turnip, Cauliflower, Broccoli etc. are some of the vegetables that are grown and are used in the kitchen.

Pema Wangyal and his wife Rinchen are the native residents of Lachung. He is a government contractor. Friendly Pema likes to talk on varying topics including nature, farming, social issues happy to help you with any travel plan
Rinchen Bhutia serve freshly cooked local food. Most of the vegetables supplied to the kitchen come from their own organic farm. Breakfast options are Puri-Chole, Butter Tea, Coffee, Butter Toast, Bread Omelette etc. Meals are served taking in account the guests preferences. Non-vegetarian is available only on demand.
