Tabo is a quaint little town situated in the banks of Spiti river in a bowl-shaped flat valley in Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. It is located 48 km from Kaza, the sub-divisional headquarters of Spiti. Tabo is known for the ancient monastic complex that preserves some of the precious paintings and stucco images dating back to the 11th century. On the cliff-face above the complex are a series of caves that at some point were the dwellings of monks.
It is a beautiful 2 story building located in a quiet residential complex near the old monastery. Parking is done near the gompa and a short walk from there takes you to the homestay. It has 6 comfortable spacious rooms with a breathtakingly beautiful mountain view from the window of the rooms. 4 rooms have an attached bathroom while 2 have a common bathroom. The Terrace has absolutely stunning views of the entire valley. It is a perfect spot to see the Milky way at night.
