Natures Bounty Homestay – Darima

Darima is a quaint little village located in the heart of Kumaon Mountains, 50 km from Nainital towards Mukteshwar in Uttarakhand. Unparalleled in its beauty and charm, Darima is covered in lush green fields and fruit orchards and is ideal for a peaceful stay away from regular tourist crowds. The dense oak forests that it is surrounded with has a variety of Himalayan birds. Owing to its close proximity to destinations like Nainital, Ramgarh, Mukteshwar, Binsar and Almora, it can be a perfect base to explore the Kumaon region.

Away from all the hustle and bustle, in the midst of oak forest lies this serene homestay. It’s a beautiful independent villa in lush green surroundings. The host family stays on the middle floor. There are 4 cozy double occupancy rooms for guests on the lower and the top floor, all facing the oak forest area with lush green surroundings. All the guest rooms are well lit with good ventilation to let you connect to the green surroundings. In the 20,000 sq.ft. property, the hosts grow organic vegetables and other crops, and the same is used in the kitchen. It is an eco-stay; the green building has centralized solar water heater, glass façade to harness solar energy, gray water recycling for irrigation purposes and two pit waste tanks to extract manures & fertilizers.

The nearest airport is Pantnagar which is 94km away and Kathgodam is the nearest railhead at a distance of 60km. Regular road bus services and taxi are available from Delhi, Kathgodam and Haldwani.

Preeti Joshi along with Prateek Joshi will host you. They are avid travelers, energy conservationists, adventure trekkers and nature lovers. They gave up their corporate life in 2019 to live in green surroundings, do farming and stay connected to nature.
