Sunkiya Tree House  – Mukteshwar

A lovely walk through thick Oak & Rhododendron forest brings you to this magical hideout located in a small village Sunkiya in Mukteshwar. It is located about 350 meter off the road to give you ultimate peace & privacy. Only few deer, birds and butterflies come to entertain you sometimes. The tree house has a room with a double bed, a cozy balcony opening up to the forest and an attached bathroom. This tree house is an extended part of  Sunkiya Homestay where the host live just at a few meters away from the tree house.

Enjoy hot cup of coffee with your bestie while sitting in the cozy balcony that opens up to the forest, look at the gorgeous star-studded night sky that will fuel your creativity, and pamper your taste buds with delicious organic meals prepared by the host family. Visit us in the months of Jan-Feb to enjoy fresh snow, Mar-Apr when the landscape is coloured red with Rhododendron flowers, May-Aug to enjoy crunchy garden fresh fruits or any time of the year to escape the maddening crowed of city.

How To Reach

The homestay is located at  Sunkiya Village around 45 km away from Nainital, and only 340 km from Delhi. The nearest airport is in Pantnagar at 88 km and Kathgodam is the nearest railway station at 53 km. One can easily get taxis from the airport or railway station to reach Sunkiya.

Food

We serve home cooked meals. Most of the vegetables supplied to the kitchen come from our own organic farm. Breakfast is served as per your choice like Paratha with curd or tea, Sandwich, Butter Toast, Bread Omelette or Puri Bhaji. You would love herbal tea and pakodas in the evening. Dinner is served with a combination of north India and Kumaoni food. We have a small dairy farm of our own, so you get milk and other dairy product fresh always. Since we are located in a fruit orchard, you get to pluck and enjoy fresh fruits as well during season.

Pooran, native of Sunkiya village is a simple farmer who loves to talk about nature, farming, social issues and treats every tree like his own children. His son Ajit manages the homestay along with his mother Veena and wife Kanchan. The family can guide you well on things to do and places to visit in Mukteshwar.
