Kanarkha Homestay
It is a typical Kumaoni style mud and stone house located in serene environs of a village Kanarkha, 6 km from Padampuri and 32 km from Nainital. With all year pleasant weather, it is a perfect hillside homestay. There’s a lot to explore around the village. It is a paradise for Birders and wildlife lovers. Some short treks in the Oak forest provide you an opportunity to sight Sambhar, Mountain Goat, Barking Deer and even Leopard at times. There are about 200 species of birds in the area.
Kanarkha Homestay consists of 3 guest rooms; a set of 2 rooms on the first floor with attached bathroom and 1 room on the ground with a separate bath just beside the room. The best quality Potato and Peas in the entire Nainital region come from Karnarka. Being a fruit belt their orchards are full of Peach, Plum, Apricot and Pears. So you can expect fresh organic farm-to-table meals.
How to Reach
Nearest airport is Pantnagar (67 km) and nearest railway station is Kathgodam (32 km). It takes a moderate walk of about 30 minutes to reach the homestay. You can be picked up by horse as well at a nominal cost of 250/-

The rooted and simple family homestay
This is the second time I visited this place last time on Diwali and this time on Holi. This place and people pulled me back here on festivals because they don't treat you as a visitor but a family. The rooted and simple nature of the family gives warmth and makes you believe people can actually be so loving at heart. Everything is homegrown organically and is cooked at home by loving Amma Ji & It is tasty and mouthwatering.😋 We did field work with Daya Bhai and family, helped them ploughing potato and other vegetables💚 Daya kishan Dani's family is now my second family away from home. This is a must visit place for anyone who needs a break from the monotonous life.✨

A must go place
What is really called a home away from home. Great hospitality and Amma is super awesome. Her food is so delicious that the taste remains in your tongue for a long time. The whole family gives you the feeling that you are part of the family. Had one of the best vacation time with my family. Must to go place. Will plan to visit there again soon.

Lovely Place
Lovely place, friendly people, simple life & the vibe of the place is very peaceful. You can experience a village/farmer life. With fresh fuite and vegetables from the field to chule ki roti.

Authentic Local Village Homestay Experience
I visited this place with my family and two little dogs and I highly recommend this once in a lifetime experience. This place is run by a lovely family residing nearby with their horse, cows, buffaloes and a charming dog. You will spend the best days of your stay here in terms of chulha cooked homemade food, exploring village culture and interacting with the locals, getting to enjoy fresh fruits such as plum, apricot and “Kanarkha” - speciality of Kanarkha region, room with a breathtaking view. Little trekking will be required to reach your accommodation. Locals will help you in carrying your luggage and accompanying you to your rooms. Visited this place in the month of May. Daytime and nights are cold so do carry winter clothes as well. The thing I enjoyed the most - cooking chulha Maggie.
