The Himalayan Essence Farmstay – Sukhia Pokhri 

Sukhia Pokhari is a small picturesque village in Darjeeling district, West Bengal close to the Indo-Nepal Border. Darjeeling town is 18 Km from the village. If you want to explore the Himalayas and it’s flora fauna and go on short treks, this is the right place. The best time to see outstanding views of snow-capped peaks is during the spring season from April to May and  October to December, though you can visit any time of the year. While staying here you can visit and explore Kanchenjunga View Point, Lepcha Jagat, Mani Choeling Monastery, Jor Pokhari, Darjeeling, Tiger Hill, Ghum, Simana Viewpoint, Ghum Monorail etc.

This semi-wooden cottage is located near Pashupati Fatak, about 1 km downhill from the main border road and is surrounded by pine forest, lush greenery and wildlife. Starting from visiting the tea gardens to homegrown vegetables, walking among pines to virgin and unexplored waterfalls, this place offers a jam-packed schedule to explore the Himalayas and its flora and fauna. A breath-taking sunrise can be viewed during the winter season. It’s a perfect mix of serenity, extreme warm hospitality, home made food and beautiful location.

They serve delicious home cooked meals prepared from farm fresh ingredients. Breakfast options include paratha, puri sabji, toast, egg, tea/ coffee etc. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is served. Vegetarian food mostly includes home grown organic vegetables, dal, rice, roti, salad, curd etc. Korma chicken and Eggs are main dishes for non-vegetarians. You can also try local Nepali dishes. Tea served is plucked and processed locally from their own tea garden.
