Shantiniketan, an abode of peace and tranquility, is a neighborhood of Bolpur town in Birbhum district, West Bengal. It is approximately 165 km from Kolkata. It was founded by Maharshi Devendranath Tagore, the great writer, poet and educationist of his time and India’s first Nobel Laureate. Rabindranath opened a school in Shantiniketan in 1901 which later became the nucleus of Bengali art and culture and the most renowned universities in the world. Today, Shantiniketan is a great center for higher studies in arts and is known for the famous Vishva Bharati University. The red soil, green forest, pollution free air and the banks of Rivers Kopai and Ajay, makes it an ideal place for a peaceful stay away from all the city chaos.

Away from the hustle bustle of the town, this independent house is situated adjacent to a Santhal village amidst the green meadows.  It is just 15 minutes walking distance from Vishva Bharati University and 10 minutes walking distance from Sonajuri Hatt. Other important destinations like Kankalitala, Kopai etc are also very near.
